HONDA, YAMAHA, AND KAWASAKI! RAINBOW SPORTS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

The Start The humble beginnings of Rainbow Sports, Inc., began with my first ride on wheels at the age of one. It made an impression on me. (Ask brother Dan.) Over the next few years I was introduced to wheels with motors by my uncles, dad and brother. At age eleven, I built my first motorized mini-bike with scraps I found at the salvage yard or dug out of the trash. And yes, it did run! The brakeless wonder was responsible for my first motorcycle raspberry and my future addiction. From then on, I slept, ate, and drank motorcycles.
After a year or so, I began riding better and crashing less, and found my way to my first motorcycle race. (Another long story, ask Uncle Dale.) Riding a 175cc Motoparilla, I placed second, riding against older, more experienced riders. Life was good until mom found out! My racing career was on hold until I moved out of the house. | At 17, I moved out and bought my first race bike from Jennings Nelson, a Yamaha MX250. I began racing and riding regularly and never looked back. Over the years I have participated in hundreds of races and several championships on all kinds of machines. Different types of series championships I have won include, State Motocross, Three-Wheeler Flat Track, Oklahoma State Cross Country, and Hallett Road Racing to name just a few. |
Motorcycle racing and motorcycle friends helped me find my way. In 1985 I opened Rainbow Cycle & ATV, in Enid, a small accessory shop. I called it "Rainbow" because each color the rainbow reqresented a different brand of motorcycle and I liked them all. I added the Yamaha motorcycle and ATV franchise in November of 1985 and was shifting into high gear. |
By March of 1988, we had out-grown our oringinal building and moved to 320 S. Van Buren, Enid, Oklahoma. In 1995, after completing a building expansion and remodel, we added Honda Motorcycles and ATV's. In 2002, we added Kawasaki Motorcycles and ATV's and were out of expansion room. We needed to move. |
On January 10, 2004, we opened in our present location at 2610 W. Owen K. Garriott in Enid. Our main building is approximately 11,500 square feet and has an 800 square foot detail shop and a 4500 square foot storage building. This facility doubles our previous space and we have it full. |
After 20 years in business, the reason that Rainbow Sports "works" is directly related to the staff we have in place. All of our employees are hard workers and great problem solvers. Our team of people loves motorcycles and is motivated to making and keeping our customers happy. |
| Everyone here knows that repeat customers are the foundation of our business and without them we wouldn't be here. We want every experience at Rainbow Sports to be as fun and as exciting as the motorcycles we are selling! |
A business is judged in many ways, but longevity in our area is a major criteria of business "success." We've been in business long enough now that we are selling bikes to the kids of our "old" riding buddies! I believe our longevity is a direct result of meeting the needs and expectations of our customers. Come join us as we double jump into our next 20 years! |
